Feed Mill Information System
OMNI-Feed's comprehensive feed management system
Feed rations are one of the largest expenses of any livestock operation
and are critical to the growth and health of the animals. Monitoring the
many aspects of feed rations is very important.
The Feed Mill Information System helps you manage feed rations and vendors that supply them to your site. The system allows you to keep track of all your feed information and provides at-a-glance and detailed information about feed vendors, rations, ingredients, nutrients, and costs.
Track rations, ingredients, nutrients, and costs
Determining the requirements of ingredients and nutrients such as lysine is an important part of managing your animals. The Feed Mill Information System helps you track these and then evaluate different combinations to help develop the best feed strategy.
For example, you can create reports that show how much of an individual ingredient or nutrient an animal has consumed (based on average consumption per population group) during a period. This is especially useful for tracking important nutrients such as lysine.
Tracking nutrient consumption allows you to ensure that your animals are consuming the desired amount of nutrients. This allows you to monitor nutrient levels and make adjustments on a week by week basis instead of doing a post mortem after the animals have left the barn. Tracking nutrients and making any necessary adjustments will help you get better-performing animals.
Feed Mill reports
The Feed Mill Information System includes three detailed reports. Click on the links below to see a sample of each report. All sample reports open in a new window.
- The Ration Information Report provides you with detailed information about every aspect of a ration: vendor, cost history, ingredients, nutrients, and lysine/energy ratio.
- The Feed Nutrients Report allows you to look at the feed consumption of one cycle of animals (population group) and compare it to other population groups. The report analyzes the average consumption of selected nutrients in a ration. The report can help you monitor nutrient consumption and determine if the ration requires any changes.
- The Feed Ingredients Report allows you to look at the feed consumption of one population group and compare it to other groups. The report analyzes the average consumption of selected ingredients in a ration. You can compare the differences in consumption to the average weights of the animals in the population groups to help determine the most profitable diet for your animals.
