Phason offers power and phase loss detection—risk management solutions

Phason offers two new accessories for their already powerful and advanced OMNI-4000 systems: The Phase Detection Sensor (PDS-1) and the Power Loss Sensor (PLS-1).

The Phase Detection Sensor (PDS-1) works with OMNI-4000's Local Environment Monitor (LEM) and OMNI-Site Watcher to continuously monitor three-phase power. The Power Loss Sensor (PLS-1) works with OMNI-4000's Local Environment Monitor (LEM) and OMNI-Site Watcher to continuously monitor single-phase, 120 VAC power.

OMNI-Site Watcher and the Local Environment Monitors already provide the ability to monitor such critical conditions as temperatures, humidity, and more. The added option of power and/or phase-loss detection makes the package even more attractive to producers. When combined with the OMNI-Alert alarm notification system, the package becomes an integral part of a 'Risk management and livestock insurance strategy'.

An OMNI system containing the above components meets the following general livestock insurance requirements:

The OMNI-4000 does all this and much more. For more information powerful new OMNI-4000 accessories, visit our Phase Detection Sensor and Power Loss Sensor pages. For more information about the risk management and insurance strategy, see:

Phason introduces programmable lighting controls for the poultry industry

Phason's Programmable Lighting Controls manage light duration and intensity (brightness) and automatically adjust them during the birds’ life cycle. Multiple outputs and programs allow poultry producers to easily design control programs that work for their operation.

Light intensity and light duration are important factors in poultry production. Light intensity affects bird aggression, feed consumption, and water consumption. Light duration affects reproductive cycles, egg production cycles, total feed consumption, and growth rates. Studies show that well-designed lighting programs can improve the productivity of poultry operations.

Phason’s Programmable Lighting Controls feature variable AC outputs for dimming incandescent lights, general-purpose relays for turning lights on and off or operating devices such as feed augers, and variable DC outputs for operating DC-controlled fluorescent lights.

The LCD displays settings and program status. The four-button keypad allows users to easily scroll through settings and program the control. The real-time clock and power-failure memory retention prevent controls from losing their settings or program status because of a power failure.

Available accessories for the Programmable Lighting Controls include single-phase and three-phase slaves that allow producers to increase the capacity of their control system without programming additional controls. PLC Savers allow users to store a copy of the configuration and lighting programs and ever transfer them to other PLCs in seconds.

For more information about Phason's Programmable Lighting Controls, see the PLC overview.
